Frickers' #6 upsets League Champs
to win tournament


FRICKERS' #6 upset Frickers' #4, 19-13, Thursday, Sept. 19 in the Legends tournament finals. Frickers' #6 had previously lost three times to #4 during the season. Frickers' #6 wins Legends
League Tournament 19-13

FRICKER’S 6 (19), FRICKER’S 4 (13): FRICKER’S 6 had a score to settle after losing 3 times to a very good Frickers 4. Frickers #6 led by Rick Schmidt going 4/4 2 doubles and 2 singles. Having 3 hits apiece were Perry Chillus, Jeff Gorney, Brian Chacka, Mark Murphy and Wade Timming. Rick Schmidt also had an unassisted double play at second base stopping a rally by Frickers#4. Brian Chacka also had his first OTFHR. Great job by all of Frickers 6 players. What great group of guys. FRINCKER’S 4 - The fourth time was a charm for #6 as they totally outplayed us and came away with a much deserved Tourney Championship. Offensive leaders: Dave Obert (4-4 2B 3B 3R 3RBI), Marty Harrison (3-3 HR 2B 3RBI), Mark Gedert (3-4 RBI), Larry Gagin (2-3 2B), Brett Crosby (1-2 RBI), Kevin Cagle(1-3 2RBI), and Rich Brownfield who was 10-10 for the Tourney (3-3 2B 2RBI). I would like to say it was an honor playing with such a great group of guys this year. You guys were an absolute pleasure to have as teammates. We may have come up a little short in this contest, but we had a fantastic season and there were many nights that we were without peer. Thank you all.

GOOD FRIENDS, GOOD TIMES! Randy Bores, Rick Schmidt and Mike Gory have been friends for thirty years; playing together and against each other over the years! Here, they get to celebrate their friendship and the success of the Frickers #6 team, upon winning the 2013 Legends tournament.

Progressive Therapy defeats
Shawn's to win tournament


TOURNAMENT CHAMPS! Progressive Therapy scored the go ahead run in the top of the 8th and held-on, turning a slick double play in the bottom of the 8th: SS Dann Schlenbaker to 1B Phil Vzail, to catcher Steve Cygan, to nail the runner trying to score from 3rd, to seal the 16-15 victory. Progressive Therapy wins 16-15 in extra-innings

Progressive Therapy defeated Shawn's 16-15 in extra innings to win the tournament championship. Progressive started the game with 6 in the first inning and were ahead most of the game until Shawn's tied it up in the 6th inning (14-14). In the 7th both teams scored one run so on to the 8th. In the 8th, Dave Brownfield drove in one run and in the bottom with one out and a runner on 3rd, shortstop Dann Schlenbaker, from his knees, threw out the batter at first and Phil Vrzel threw home to nip the runner from third trying to score to complete the double play and end the game. Tim Kusmail was 3/5 and caught 8 balls in left center. John Radschied, Ron Fox and Phil Vrzal were all 3/4. Vrzal and Bill Baldwin both had triples. With both teams hitting and fielding well, it was a well played championship game. "Shawn's lost an extra inning contest to Progressive Therapy, 16-15. Three of the four matchups were decided by one run", said Shawn's manager, Roger Heineke. "I would like to thank my players for their good attitude and fine effort to make my final year of coaching a wonderful experience!" Leading hitters in the final game: Roger Heineke 3/3, Dwain Nemire and Dave Charleton 3/4.
