ALLSHRED SPARKPLUG! Outfielder Phil Richard’s steady defense and clutch hitting played a pivital role in Allshred Services’ 50+ team winning the Thursday night league. Allshred finished with a 13-5 record.

ALLSHRED WINS 8 IN A ROW TO CAPTURE LEAGUE TITLE!

ALLSHRED – 18 HARVARD BARBERSHOP – 10

In a rain-shortened game, Allshred Services defeated Harvard 18-10 to win the 50+ Thursday League. The weather was cold and wet, but the bats were hot as The Shred Squad came out swinging, scoring 18 runs on 25 hits. This was Allshred’s 8th win in a row. The defense was solid. Jeff Huskisson made two outstanding catches in right to rob Harvard of extra bases. Dennis Telmanik and Phil Richard contributed with several fine defensive plays in the OF. SS Willie Geiser was at his best, fielding and hitting to lead his team to their first league championship. Hot bats: Denis Telmanik and Jeff Huskisson 3/3, Phil Richard, Willie Geiser, Mark Grimes, Robert Robinson, Kris Brickman, Mike Rauch and Jerry Keefe each had two hits. A cold and happy team celebrated with friends from the league at Frickers. (Coaches note: Our thanks to the professional staff at Pacesetter Park. After two days of rain, the fields were in relatively good shape and we got all games played.)

Allshred Wins Double-Header

Allshred won both ends of a double-header to move into sole possession of first place! At one time, Allshred had a record of 1-3 due to injuries, players MIA and newcomers struggling, but give the Shred Squad credit for being focused and jelling as a team. Turn-about is fair play! On July 28 Frickers’ #3 run-ruled Allshred 21 – 9, but the Sept. 1st game was just the opposite with Allshred winning 20-7 in 5-innings. The Shred Squad didn’t mess around, and it was the defense that lit the fuse on a steamy night at Pacesetter.

Allshred Defeats Garcia 18-5

Allshred Services (18) vs Garcia Surveyors (6): In the 2nd game of a twin-bill, Allshred won in 5-innings, 18-6. A potent offense, stellar pitching and solid defense were key factors in both wins. Twin-bill stats: Dennis Telmanik 5/7, Phil Richard 4/7, Jeff Huskisson 4/7, Mark Grimes 4/5 with one O-T-F homerun (his first), Joel Hansen 4/5 with a key triple, Mike Rauch 4/5, and Mike Betley 4/6. “There’s good chemistry on this team,” said Phi Richard, “and it’s nice to see the majority of the guys having fun at Fricker’s, after games.” A hot hitting Allshred team showed no mercy on Garcia Surveyors, jumping out to a 15-1 lead after 3 innings. In the bottom of the fourth inning, Garcia roared back with 4 runs on 5 straight hits, including a 2 run triple by Dann Schlenbaker, closing the gap to 16-5. Allshred came back with 2 more runs in the the top of inning #5, and was answered by one more Garcia tally in the bottom of the 5th.
