LEGENDS PLAYOFF contest between Fricker's Green and Schneider Sons' Electric ended in the bottom of the 7th when Schneider's scored four runs to win 12-11. John Johnson hit a triple and two singles for Fricker's. Johnson won the "King of Swat" home-run title in the Tuesday Masters League with ten out. Tom Duhart was runner-up with nine.

AWESOME! Staff Sgt., (retired) Cody Rice brought the crowd to their feet with a tremendous blast over the 362-ft. fence in left center at Mercy Field, May 26. The WWAST squad was 3-0: defeating the Toledo Police, the SSS Veterans/Celebrities team and the Sylvania tournament team. The ball landed an estimated 385-ft.

WWAST GAMES! SSS member Gary Walton, USA Air Force, retired, sang the National Anthem and God Bless America on May 26 at Mercy Field. He also played in the SSS Veterans and local celebrities game vs. the Wounded Warriors Amputee Softball team. The Warriors won 15-2.

SPORTSMAN AWARD! Phil Richard, left, was presented the special award by Board Member Rick Schmidt for his outstanding contribution to the league. Phil joined the league in 2008. A former Board Member, Phil is active with the league's WWAST charity games program and plays tournament ball with the 60's team.

A large crowd turned out for the 2018 SSS organizational meeting held at the Sylvania Senior Center. Ten teams will compete on Thursdays and eight on Tuesdays.
