Fall Softball Players 20, Andy & Barney's 16
The FALL SOFTBALL PLAYERS had one mission to accomplish and that was to play spoiler by beating Andy & Barney's and depriving them of an outright or share of the Fall softball championship. The Fall Softball Players rose to the occasion and won 20- 16. There were lots of good hits but one man's hit really brought the team out of the dugout and gave us the momentum to move to victory. Dan Leonard lined a beautiful double up the gap over the left center fielder head for a big run scoring double and the team took off from there. Dan also had a nice put out at home catching the back end of a nice DP.
ANDY & BARNEY'S got off to bad start and lost the first game of a double-header, 20-13 to Joe Beham's squad. On the plus side, John Johnson was 4/4 with a OTFHR. Bob Miller was 2/4 with a homerun. Rob Boehme stayed hot going 3/4.
Andy & Barney's 18, Fall Softball Players 11
The FALL SOFTBALL PLAYERS were still celebrating the big victory in game one and came up short in this lackluster game. In fact the game was called after 6 innings due to lack of further interest by both teams and everyone wanting to go celebrate the Fall season with pizza, beer, wings and taco's at Andy & Barneys (there was a big crowd there after the games) Dan Leonard again was the hero as he was in the leadoff spot and went 3-3 with three line shot base hits including another double up the left center field gap. I would like to thank all of my teammates for a fun filled Fall season. We had a few wins (not as many as we wanted), had to battle through some key injuries and had some tough losses. We had great weather every game and a great bunch of guys that had fun and enjoyed each other as teammates. I wish everyone a happy and healthy offseason and God-willing see you all in the Spring for another Softball season.
ANDY & BARNEY'S bounced back, played good defense, eliminated metal mistakes and hit the ball, scoring 18 runs. John Johnson was 2/3 with another dinger - giving him six out. Tom Duhart, testy after being walked, took it out on the ball, going 3/3 with a mighty blast, hitting the ball over -OVER the trees in left center-his fifth. Bob Collins, Jeff Gorney and Mark Vonderembse chipped in with three hits each in a 3/3 performance. Andy & Barney's finished the ten game Fall League season with a 7-3 record.
Fall Ballers 12, Sacred Hitless 6
Home runs by Doug Meek and Mike Sanders started things off in the first inning. Mike Sanders,Mark Stroh and Mark Clair all 3/3 carried the load . Good defense and good pitching held the Hitless to 6 runs.
Fall Ballers 21, Sacred Shitless 7
The BALLERS led by Tom Spy3/3and Mike Sanders 4/4, and Mark Clair 3/3. Bruce Klostermaier, John La Beau, and Mark Stroh with 3 hits apiece. Stellar pitching and defense was a big part in the victory. The Ballers had 31 hits. For the season Mike Sanders and Mark Clair led the team hitting .766. Also John LaBeau .677, Bruce Klostermaier and Mark Stroh at .667. Doug Meek .645 with 5 OTFHR. Terry Finch and Gabe Barrow hit over .600 as well. I want to thank all of the Fall Ballers for a fun and Great season. Thanks again, Rick
