to win the Legends tournament

THE LEGENDS WINNERS! Fricker's Blue defeated Roosters in the tournament finals
to win the 2016 duo title: League and Tournament Champions. With the score tied
in the bottom of the 7th, Bill Trego on third, Darren Axon drove a fly ball over the
drawn-in outfield to plate the winning run, for a 11-10 victory. Back row, l-r, Tom Fisher,

In the season finale, both teams came ready to battle it out for the championship. The Blue Crew took a commanding lead of 8-2 in the fourth, only to have a "game" Rooster's team battle back to tie it at 8 in the top of the sixth. Blue put up 2 in the bottom half of the inning, but Rooster's battled back in the top of the seventh, plating 2 of their own to tie the game yet again. Bill Trego led off the bottom of the inning with a single and was moved to third on a shot by Mike Keaton. Trego scored on a single to left center by Darren Axon to seal the win. Offensive standouts were Terry Finch 3/3, Tim Rowe 2/3 with 3r scored, Bob Ruckman, Randy Rydman, Bill Garber and Bll Trego who were all 2/3 with a total of 7r scored. An outstanding win to end a great season by a team that played hard for each other every game and just would not ever give up. Thanks to Rick and Jim for doing a wonderful job umpiring an exciting game. Finally, to the best damn fans in the land, who were out in force, you are the best and we are all so glad you were there for us all year!

CAG wins 2016 Masters League and Tournament Championships

THE WINNERS! The Citizens Advisory Group team won the 2016 Masters League, defeating
Hansen State Farm 15-14 on August 9 to win the league. In the tournament semi-finals, Tuesday, August 16, CAG
pounded Glass City 11-4 to face Sundown Cantina in the finals, winning 16-11 for
a sweep of the Masters League and Tournament play. Back row, l-r, Bill Bray, Craig Mantey,
William Green, Coach Bill Wiseman, Larry Gagin, Jon Labeau & Jeff Szenderski. Front row, l-r,
Bruce Klostermeir, Bob Briggs, Jim Nickelsen, Daniel Lewis, Bill Cox and Dwaine Nemire. Labeau
led the team with a .851 BA and 7-home-runs, Klostermeir hit .787 with 2-home-runs.
Tournament Final:
Citzens Advisory Group 16 - Sundown Cantina 11
What a game played by the 2 teams in the championships. In the top of the 1st, Sundown could only score one run after loading the bases, Citizen tied it up on a double by LaBeau and Klostermeir's single, Sundown scored 3 in the second and Citzens scored one run in the 2nd and 3rd. So after 3 innings Sundown lead 4-3. In the fourth, the bottom of the Citizens lineup started the inning with 5 staight hitsand score 5 to take the lead for the first time 8-5. Sundown was not done, they rallied for 5 runs with 6 hits to take the lead back 10 to 8, In the 5th, Citizens came back to push 4 runs across to regain the lead 12 to 10. Bill Garber lead off the 6th with a triple and scored on a ground out, but that was Sundown's last hit and run. Citzens Bill Wiseman and Bob Briggs got on and LaBeau doubled home 2 runrs and later scored to take a 15 -11 score in to the 7th, In the 7th Sundown was held scoreless to end the game, Citizens Advisory Group were league champions and now tornament champions as well. Great season CAG and the 13 players on the team. Leading Citzens in batting were Jon LaBeau 3/3, Craig Mantley 3/3, Bill Cox 3/3, Bill Wiseman 2/2, Dan Lewis 2/3, Jeff Szenderski 2/3 and Bruce Klostermeir 2/4

Sundown defeats Hansen State Farm 16-13
In the second round of the tournament, Cantina faced a State Farm team devoid of a few key players and came away with a victory in a back and forth game 16 -13. Farm jumped out with 4 runs in the first two innings and Cantina held on until they took a one run lead into the sixth inning. Key hits from the bottom of the order and then the top for Cantina scored 3 runs in the 6th and State Farm scored one totally 16-13 going into the 7th. Neither team scored in the last inning as Cantina squeaked out a 16-13 win. Top hitters going 4-4 were Jim Dandar and Tim Kuszmaul, Kevin Foster was also perfect, hitting 3-3. Granville Smith, Bill Garber, Joe Siefer were 3-4, while Jerry Edmunson and Mark Goodremont were 2-3 and Guy Stager had two hits.
CAG defeats Sundown in the finals 16-11
In the finals of the 58+ league Cantina faced the top seeded team, Citizens Advisory for all the marbles. In a game of sometime inches, Citizens prevailed 15-11. Cantina had a few good scoring innings but faded at the end while Citizens scored a few extra runs. top hitters were Jim Dandar 3-3 while Roger Kinnersly, Bill Garber, Mark Goodremont, and Kevin Foster were 2-3. Other contributors were Jerry Edmunson, Granville Smith, Tim Kuszmaul, Dave Cohen, Joe Siefer, Guy Stager, Ron Callison, and Darrell Smock.
Cantina had an excellent year. Roger Kinnersley led all batters with a scorching .800 average!! Bill Garber unquestionably had more putouts than any other player. Jim Dandar won the home run crown. As manager I, Jim Dandar, would gladly play with this positive attitude and never say die team again. See you next year Teammates!!
