JEFF TRAUDT STATE FARM
After giving up 5 runs in the first and trailing 7-2 at the end of the 4th , State Farm got a wakeup call and scored 8 more runs and shut-down Schneider Electric to win the Championship 10-7. In league play, the teams split, one win - one loss each, setting up the "rubber match".
It was a battle of two very good teams ultimately playing in the post season Championship to have the bragging rights for the best record in the league for 2018. State Farm ended 12-7 (.631 winning percentage) versus Schneider Electric 13-8 (.619 winning percentage). The league had to be the most evenly competitive group of teams I can remember, where anybody could win on any given night. State Farm was led by everyone, each player had a hit and most had multiple hits during the championship game. The defense was incredible, pitching (Kyle Green) was excellent and the bats came alive to turn an already great season into a Championship season. I had the pleasure to play with a group of guys that stayed positive all year. Rob Boehme stated it best: “We had more heart and guts than any team I’ve ever played on and I never saw any teammate give another anything but encouragement. That and everything else I experienced speaks to the character of every player on our team. It truly was a privilege to have played with you”. Well said, Rob, and thanks to the State Farm team, Jeff Traudt our sponsor and the entire league for another great year. Can’t wait for Fall Ball!! Also thanks to Gabe, Jeff and Jim for umpiring the Championship game.

JUNIOR BILLBOARD FOR SENIORS! Jeff Traudt posted this billboard in front
of his State Farm office at 2828 W. Central Ave., East of Secor Rd. "I
wanted to promote the Sylvania Senior Softball league and pay homage to
my team mates - a great group of guys!", Traudt said.

JEFF TRAUDT STATE FARM
Short-handed Fricker’s Red and State Farm battled in the Semi-finals Thursday night. State Farm won the game 17-4. Well played by the entire team everyone on State Farm had a hit and all but two had at least two hits. Great effort by everyone helped to propel (Jeff Traudt) State Farm into the post season Championship game against a formidable Schneider Electric team that battled a very good Bull Moose in the other semi-final game. Thanks to Jeff Wagenhauser for umpiring the game.
Semi-final game: Bull Moose 14, Schneider Electric 15
BULL MOOSE
Bull Moose, after a fast 12-5 start was unable to keep up with the speed and two back-to-back five run innings recorded by a solid Schneider team effort. Schneider was able to get out of several innings as the Moosemen stranded (11) runners on base. The Bash Brothers could not be stopped as Tom Duhart 4-4-4R-2OTFHR and Wayne Harris 4-4-4R-2B-OTFHR went perfect for the nite. Mark Clair 3-4-1R-2B, Bob Algier 3-4-1R-2B, Jim Dunlavy 2-3-1R, and Tom Easler 2-4 contributed to the [21] hits delivered in the one run loss
SCHNEIDER ELECTRIC
Schneider Electric earned a trip to the finals with a 15-14 win over a good Bull Moose team. Schneider overcame 3 OTF home runs in a comeback victory and hung onto a 1 run lead in the 7th with 3 outstanding defense plays in a row by Dan Calmes, Todd Hofer and Jeff Kramer. Schneider used great team chemistry for a third straight one run victory and one of several this season.
