Injuries slow down "Shredders"
The Allshred/Pacesetter Prop. management 55+ Sylvania tournament team traveled to Akron/Barberton this past weekend to compete in SPA Qualifying tournament. After defeating two of the first three teams they faced including the ever tough Dayton 55's as well as Stix out of Canada the team's momentum slowed up due to various injuries. Allshred ended up winning two of the six games they played which was enough to qualify for invite to SPA tournament held in Houston, Texas. Rick Hendee clobbered three homeruns and had 14 hits in 18 at bats. Rick had several putouts and made some fine throws to third to pick off runners testing his arm accuracy. For his efforts Rick carried home the MVP ball for Allshred/Pacesetter.
Several other Allshred players displayed their power including John Johnson, John Yocom with two homers, ( one of which was a two run shot in the seventh to tie the game versus Stik.) Rob Boehme launched a couple and Steve Higgins had at least four monster shots. Marty Harrison had a line drive home run also. The team lost to Minutemen due to four home runs that went as outs with men on base due to going over the three home run limit.
Allshred/Pacesetter continues to improve with each tournament.
