ANDY & BARNEY'S RECORDS 9 & 1 RECORD TO WIN

Andy & Barney’s (17) - Autumn Smashers (10): Andy & Barney's Fall League team won the first game of a double-header against Joe Beham's Autumn Smasher's 17-10. Neal Klopping and Rob Ravin
led the charge with a 4/4 game. Jon Labeau, Jim Dandar and Dann Schlembaker had three hits each. A&B scored five runs in the 2nd: Chuck Feltman, Neal Klopping and Phil Richard singled to load the bases. Two outs, and Labeau drove a shot to deep l/c, turned on the speed and scored-ITPHR. Rob Boehme doubled and Jim Dandar singled to drive in the 5th run! Feltman, playing right center made several fine running catches to kill potential rally's.

Andy & Barney’s (20) - Autumn Smashers (17): Joe Beham's team, playing short-handed, came out swinging! Down 17-13, they scored four in the top of the 7th to tie the game. A&B's Neal Klopping led off the bottom of the 7th with a double. Phil Richard was walked intentionally. Jon Labeau found a pitch he liked and hit a long, towering shot over the fence - ball game - A&B wins the Fall League with a 9-1 record. Craig Mantey, Neal Klopping and Phil Richard went 4/4. TOP HITTERS: Jim Dandar led the A&B squad with a .793 BA; Phil Richard hit .744, Rob Boehme .704, Craig Mantey .645, Rob Ravin .636, Jon Labeau .613, Neal Klopping and Dann Schlembaker each hit .600. MVP - Jon Labeau was named defensive MVP and Dandar captured the offensive MVP. The winners receive a sweatshirt, courtesy of Andy & Barney's Sports Bar.

The Autumn Smashers playing shorthanded again, truly played a gutsy game losing in the last inning. The Smashers battled all night against all odds and came up a bit short. The Smashers were led in hitting by Marty Harrison 5-5 including two doubles and a triple; Joe Beham 4-5 including a double and a triple; Terry Thomas 4-5; Mark Clair and Rick Beham with three hits each and Mike Betley with two hits. Also special mention to Dan Leonard who graciously took one for the team playing third base (a new position for Dan) and made some nice stops. I want to thank all of the guys who played on the Autumn Smashers team. We had lots of obstacles to overcome from the very beginning but we all battled and had a lot of fun. See you next Spring, God willing for another year of softball.
