LONG-TIME FRIENDS! Don Dheel, left, greets Roy Woodworth at his SSS retirement ceremony, held Thursday, May 16 at Pacesetter. After 12 years of playing ball, Roy hung up the spikes and joined Don on the sidelines. Dheel was a member of the 2016 Fricker's 70's AA SPA team that qualified for the World tournament, St. George, Georgia.

16TH SEASON FOR FRICKER'S! The Sylvania Softball League was founded in 2008 and Fricker's, Sylvania, Ohio was the first sponsor to support the league. Opening night, players, family and friends turned out to celebrate the big "16"! Fricker's Lindsey, left, and Alex, right, greeted Fricker's players Phil Richard and Dave Obert. Lindsey has been with Fricker's for 17 years and Alex eleven.

T-TIME! Gabe Barrow, left, and his son Anthony check out the fairways at Heather Downs Country Club, July 9th. The SSS league sponsored a Golf Outing to raise funds for the USA Patriots Kids Camp for handicapped children. Twenty-Six teams of four each competed in the annual event - the most ever! Darren Axon was Chairman for the event and is the club golf-pro.

HAPPY COUPLE! A first for the Sylvania Softball League! Mark Clair and Kelly Kelly were married Thursday, July 27 at Pacesetter Park, on Field #2 by Marty Schmenk, right, an ordained minister. Kelly organized the wedding and surprised Mark. Play was stopped on the field, the wedding held at home plate - and then the game was finished. The newly weds celebrated with friends and family at Andy & Barneys. SSS photographer Jeff Walles captured the magical moment!

NEWLY WEDS Kelly and Mark Clair, married less than an hour, joined friends and family at Andy & Barneys/Jo-Jo's Pizza to celebrate. In a carefully planned wedding, Kelly surprised Mark and team mates. The game was stopped, Marty Schmenk, an ordained minister, stepped forward, players gathered and the magical moment was captured by SSS Photographer Jeff Walles. Congratulations to the newly weds!

JEFF TRAUDT'S State Farm 58+ Masters League team defeated Sidelines Pub 10-8 in the tournament finals to win the Championship! In recognition of this victory, Jeff Traudt honored the team's win with a junior billboard located at Douglas and Central, 4-blocks east of Traudt's State Farm Agency.
