Tournament Final:
Fricker's Maroon 15, Bull Moose Retirement 14

In an "Instant Classic" Fricker's Maroon won the Tournament Championship in a walk -off win over a very tough Bull Moose squad. Fricker's Maroon started the game hot taking a 9-1 lead after two innings only to see Bull Moose battle back to take a lead 10-9 and 14-10 lead. Fricker's Maroon cut the lead to 14-13 with three runs in the bottom of the 6th. The 7th inning was very eventful with Fricker's Maroon throwing out a runner at 2b on a great throw by Granville Smith and another runner at home on a throw from Carl Clark and nice catch by Mike Betley to keep Bull Moose off the scoreboard in the 7th and trailing by one run entering the bottom of the 7th. Fricker's Maroon got a one out single from Jeff "Treeman" Batanian to start the rally. Eric Iffland pinch ran and quickly moved to third on a single by Granville Smith. Jerry Edmondson followed with an RBI single tying the game and moving Granville to 3b. After an intentional walk to Alan Beerbower, Nate Freeman hit a walk off Championship winning single to left field. Fricker's Maroon was led in hitting by Jerry Edmondson 4-4; Joe Beham 3-4 with a 3b and a two doubles; Eric Iffland 2-4 with an OTF HR; Granville Smith 2-4 with a 3b; Nate Freeman, Mike Betley, Jeff Batanian and Carl Clark all with two hits each. I would like to congratulate my Fricker's Maroooooooon teammates for a fun and great winning season. Special thanks to Eric Iffland and Granville Smith who went above and beyond to change travel plans and vacation plans to make the tournament games over the two week period.
